2 Months

My Little William,

You turned 2 months old last week and you have grown up SO MUCH! You hold your head so steady and you can turn to focus on my face or to look at toys. You kick your legs a lot now and like standing up on my lap when I support you. You smile all the time while you are awake and you look like you could be laughing and giggling if you only found your voice. You do talk to us a little bit in this tiny voice and I love cooing back to you. You are the joy of my life (and your daddy's).

We just started helping you sleep on your own and it involves letting you cry yourself to sleep. Hearing you cry is hard, but I was reminded that God has entrusted you to your Dad and I. That means that our job is to raise and train you. Training you is going to be painful, for you and for us. It physically hurts me to hear you cry, and I know you don't understand why we are making you go through this hardship. When you read this, it will of course make sense why we made you cry yourself to sleep. Every child needs to sleep on his own! But for every hardship that we put you through, you may not understand why we do it and I hope you can trust that we know what is best and have your best interest at heart. God will also put you through hardship and trials will come up in your life. It will tear your heart apart at times and you will come to the end of yourself. But you know what? God will meet you there. Those things are actually blessings to you because they bring down those fixed idols in your life and you will turn to God. Trust Him, my son. He loves you and is in control of your life. His ways are not your ways, and He has your best interest in mind. He desires good for you and that good is really for you to KNOW Him more.

I love you .... so much!

Mommy

8 Weeks

Hey guys I'm 8 weeks old today and look what I can do!
I'm getting so strong!
I hold my head so steady and can look around slowly
But I get tired really fast. This holding my head up thing is hard.
Ok, Mom, put the camera away!!!

I just went to the store and bought William some more sleepers. This one looks so adorable!!!

Look at those little feeties!

I couldn't help myself I just had to hold him.

He was so snuggly and warm and adorable in his new pajamas! Ah ...

Goodbye Naps, Hello Toys!

Well, it is here... The age when babies find everything so much more interesting than sleep. William skips approximately 1/3 of his naps now. I'm not sure when he will sleep or when I will be bouncing him for an hour in the hope that he will sleep.

It isn't all bad though. Will is the smilingest baby you have ever seen. I love how his eyes sparkle when he smiles. Usually he only smiles when I'm talking to him, but yesterday I caught him smiling to his toys. It was so exciting to see him and I got tons of pictures. It is exciting to think that I can now show him things that will entertain him and teach him skills like eye-hand coordination and depth perception .... and lots of other stuff. :)

Don't you just love that smile??? :)

Comparing Father and Son

I think William looks a lot like Isaac when he was a baby. What do you think?

Sneak attack

I just found these pics on our camera's memory card. Apparently, I slept through the whole thing.

This is the only way I can get a nap that is longer than 45 minutes. William has slept as long as 2 hours on me. A normal nap elsewhere would be about 30min to 1hr.

6 Week Update

I went to the midwives for my very last appointment yesterday. As I was leaving Beth gave me a hug ... and that hug made everything so so SO final! I got this scared feeling all of a sudden that I was truly on my own and they wouldn't tell me what to do anymore. Ugh! Shake it off, Chelle!

The good news is ... My body is healing wonderfully and I'm now allowed to work out at the gym. I can't believe how excited I am to hear that. I really kind of miss the hard workouts ... but it is also probably more that I'm bored of staying home and they gave me permission to leave the house every day ... or every other day. :)

Also, I asked them to weigh William. Isaac and I have both thought he was growing fast and we didn't want to wait for his 2 month appointment before finding out just how much he has grown. We did not guess it would be this much! Do you have guesses? HE WEIGHS 11 LBs 6 OZ!!!!!!!!!!!! AH! You have got to be kidding me!?!?! We weighed him 4 weeks ago and he was 8 lbs. This means he has gained almost 1 lb a week! No wonder my arms are starting to hurt when I'm bouncing him to sleep. We looked up the charts and percentiles for babies and he is in the 90th percentile for weight. HA! Our little boy is now a big boy ... and this momma needs to stop worrying about not having enough milk for him.

So to prove my point in how big William has grown I've included these pics. :)

I think this picture looks a lot like Isaac's baby pics
